The Year in Review: Looking back at 2017 & What the Future Holds

The Year in Review: Looking back at 2017 & What the Future Holds

Can you believe 2017 is almost over? With only 2 months left in the year, I wanted to take to look back at the year and reflect on all that I have to be grateful for and what the year ahead will hold.

What this year had to offer:

Throughout this year, while building my business I got to connect with an amazing community of women entrepreneurs. Being able to talk with, support and share victories with you amazing women has been one of the greatest gifts this year had to offer.

I also got to spend some amazing quality time with my family and friends. And this month that meant starting a trip we’ve been planning for years: a road trip across Europe.

I’ll always be grateful for all that 2017 gifted me but I can’t wait for 2018 and all that it will bring.

2018, what the year ahead will bring:

A Year of Travel

2018 will be the year of the road trip! Don’t ask me where we’ll be when we have no idea, we’re planning it one stop at a time. The goal is to see all 22 European countries and cross over 31.000km of road and you can follow along over at vagabondcats.com

Being better, kinder, more present

As I look back at the last year I see clearly the times where I could’ve been kinder and more present. Those are some of the moments when I feel I failed both myself and those around me so in the coming year that’s one of the points I’ll be improving on: Being a kinder more present person.

Reaching more people & new services

I’m actually not waiting for 2017 to do this! I’m opening up new spots to work with me as your VA, as well as new services around Web Design and Branding. If you’d like to learn more check out all the details here. I’d love to get to know you and support you in growing your business.

Community & Connection

This is where I’m the happiest and so I’m planning on building something around this in the coming year. I’m not sure what this will look like or what it will involve but it’s in the plan and I can’t wait to bring it forward into the world.

Now it’s your turn! What did you love about 2017 and what are you creating in 2018? Let me know in the comments below, I’d love to know what you are up to!

A peek at my daily schedule: How I stay productive with a long to-do list!

A peek at my daily schedule: How I stay productive with a long to-do list!

I often get asked how I stay productive. As a VA I need to jump between tasks rapidly, all while keeping an eye on my email. So today I wanted to let you in and show you what my day-to-day looks like.

First thing is first: Mental and Physical Wellbeing

This is probably the part of my routine that I need to work on the most as I don’t always do it. But when I do I always feel energized and centered throughout the day.

Meditation

On an ideal day, I get up, drink a full glass of water and sit down to meditate for 10 min. I use the headspace app, they have some great meditation packs and you can use the apps free meditations.

Meditation is hard for me. Staying still for 10 min not thinking is one of the hardest things that I do every day, but even when I’m restless and not really focussed I feel that for the rest of the day my mind is focussed and calm on a level I just don’t reach when I don’t meditate.

Yoga

I’m not a big fan of running or gyms, so instead of torturing myself I tune in to Yoga with Adrienne and do a 30 min yoga session. Of all the yoga teachers out there I really resonate with Adrienne’s style of fun and mindful yoga.

And if you think yoga isn’t exercise, think again. I’m always surprised the day after on how much my muscles feel sore from this seemingly easy and light exercise form. If you’re an introvert like me and being surrounded by sweaty humans is not your thing, then yoga might just be the right form of exercise for you.

Once the exercise is done I prepare my coffee and turn on the computer to start my day’s work.

Starting my workday on the right foot

Every day I start my workday exactly the same way. I turn on my computer and start by looking at:

  1. The news – Although not strictly necessary for my job I enjoy staying up to date on the news of the day and knowing what’s happening in the world.
  2. My Finances – Knowing what your money is doing for you on a daily basis is really important, after all, you’re only running a business if it’s making money.
  3. My Inbox – My inbox is pretty clean, I have a half a dozen newsletters that I subscribe to and read, most of my other emails are from clients, so I start my day by going over them and making sure that my inbox is clean and all client emails have been replied to.

Now that these items are out of the way it’s time to dive headfirst into my to-do list.

Staying productive through the day

Every Sunday (or if I’m honest Monday morning) I organize my tasks for the week on Trello so I know exactly what I need to do each day.

If you’re curious about Trello but haven’t been able to make it work for you then I highly recommend you check out the Trello for Business course by Think Creative Collective, this has changed the way I run my business and now Trello is where I keep everything in my life and business.

I use the Pomodoro technique to go through my daily to-do list. Splitting the day into 25min chunks has allowed me to move forward on big tasks without being crippled by the fear of having them take up the whole day.

At the end of the day, I go over my emails once more. Reply to all my client emails, and prepare the upcoming day. And then I breathe and relax, the day is done, tomorrow will be a new one!

What techniques do you use to be more productive during the day-to-day? Leave a comment below and let me know.

How automating can help your business grow!

How automating can help your business grow!

We’ve all heard it before. Automating processes and systems is vital for growing your business and creating more time in your day. The question is what should you be automating first?

The best place to start with automating or outsourcing your business is by passing along tasks take up a lot of time but don’t require executive decision making.

I’d suggest starting with content distribution.

Why content distribution?

Creating quality content is one of the most important parts of running your business and this is something I wouldn’t recommend outsourcing unless you’re working with an amazing copywriter that truly gets your brand. But distributing that content is another thing.

Think about it: You’ve spent hours writing your new blog post and you’re finally done. What if instead of now spending another hour adding it to your site, sharing it on social and optimizing SEO you could just send it to your VA and have them do all of that for you? How would that feel?

These are the things that if you start automating you can then focus on growth.

Ready to automate your content distribution? Let’s chat!

Taking your power back and finding the head space to grow your business.

Taking your power back and finding the head space to grow your business.

I want you to take back your Power. Find the head space to grow your business. And know that your power is always there for you to take.

In the OBM industry, it’s often said that we provide time savings to you. By doing the things you can’t or don’t know how to do. But let’s be honest, that’s not true!

Are we saving you time? Yes, of course, but it’s not because we are doing things you can’t do. You can figure out like to do absolutely anything! I know you can because you’re a smart, intelligent and determined woman!

The real value of an OBM and a VA isn’t the time saved, it’s the head space gained.

It’s allowing you to have the head space to focus on the opportunities that will grow your business. And create new opportunities for you and your business.

There’re plenty of things that you can figure out how to do. But they may not be the best use of your time. Having someone to support you with the day to day hustle will allow you to be more discerning on how you spend your time.

Making this clear to you, the difference between saving time and gaining head space is so important for me. Because even though time doesn’t stretch your head space is much more valuable.

When you hire someone to support you, you’re not giving your power away. You’re taking back the power to do what YOU know best.

Are you ready to focus on what you know best?

Get the support you need to Own Your Power and Grow your Business: Launching our Mastermind!

And you haven’t joined a mastermind then I have the one for you!

A mastermind is basically a virtual posy for your business. Your own little group of girlfriends that are there to support you and help you grow your business. Face the challenges being an entrepreneur and change the world.

What would it feel like to you if whenever you had a business hiccup that you needed to talk through you had a group of trusted friends that you could turn to for help, support and most importantly answers?

It would be amazing right?!

I’ve been a part of some amazing masterminds in the past. So when I started to look at new ways to serve you amazing ladies, I knew this was something that I wanted to do for you.
